Some time ago, Timothy linked me a webpage where one person made a photograph and invited other people to post-process the picture the way they wanted it.
In analogy to this, Crahan (Thomas) started a similar project a few days ago. He supplied us with the untouched raw file and asked for our perception and adaption of the image.
I liked this idea a lot, downloaded the .DNG file and fired up my Photoshop immediately as I didn’t want to go post-processing with Raw Camera or Aperture.
The first steps I took were cropping, framing and cutting the picture. I didn’t want to touch the image itself by altering anything but levels, colours, curves. I did want to accentuate the warm weather and focus on the three people on the bench.
This is what I came up with, I hope you like it.
Thomas will collect all altered images in a few days and you will be able to see them on http://www.n00.be
If you want you can always grab the raw file and give a shot at it yourself. Have fun.
It was a good weekend for some photography.
First of all there was ‘Open Momumentendag’ where you have the possibility to visit some mounuments or historic places for free. We decided to go to the Atlantic Wall in Raversijde, because we know the kids love to go there. The pics are pretty self-explanatory … I just made them black&white to add some more dramatic effect to them.
I took some nice pics of the kids there to, leaning against a bunker wall.
Then it was time for some experimenting. I have done some ‘ball-shots’ in the past but as they are invading our home ‘en-masse’ I had to make some new shots. Just one for now, but an extra wood pattern should make this up (beside some cropping no additional effects were added). Enjoy.
Just like every year, there were fireworks for the national holiday. This time I decided to take my camera with me.
While I was waiting for the fireworks to begin I was shooting some random pictures. On one of those pictures I had a lucky moment, because the gods showed me a piece of the universe:
Ok, I am just kidding, but it’s a nice picture isn’t it? It’s a picture I took of the fireworks itself.
You can enjoy some more fireworks pics at my Picasa gallery: http://picasaweb.google.com/vermeerschsam
I was really surprised how easy it was to make some nice fireworks pics without going to deep in the book-o-tricks! Enjoy.
It’s not a new video, but somehow I missed it when they hit internet with it (I probably had my wintersleep that time).
Everyone who loves beauty, photography and/or image editing should take a look at this vid … and give it some thought.
Did you really think all people are as beautifull as you see in ads? Think again and have a look around!
But two is too much!!!!
Everybody has a look-a-like, so they say. And sadly … I must agree. This weekend I found the look-a-like of my colleague, software engineer and Blicbox-blogger. The resemblance was so big I had to take a picture of his second him to prove it, cause I know he wouldn’t believe me anyway. The picture is not 100% perfect and sharp, but I haven’t touched it with any filters, this is the real deal! Timo on the coast of Belgium and Timo2 in Holland/The Kemps.
I had to test the new lightbox plugin (which opens the picture in a nice ajax overlay screen). Actually I should by packing my bags to go on a little holiday, but I couldn’t resist taking my Canon and framing one more ball-moment.
No extra effects applied, just some brightness/contrast adjustment. I love those jelly things.
P.S.: looks like the plugin is working (Settings = Show: Thumbnail - Link to: File)
